Out-smart, out-bribe, out-last: Teiichi Akaba for student council president!

Battle of Supreme High is a story of power, brimming with factions, alliances, strategy, sabotage, and dossiers of incriminating information—set not in the world of international politics but in an exclusive boys’ high school. Kaitei High, an incubator school for politicians and military, is a highly regimented place. Its school council is an extreme and Machiavellian world, a complex microcosm of society. In a nutshell: it’s crazy!

The stakes of failure are high, as the bright, ambitious freshman Teiichi Akaba (Masaki Suda; Princess Jellyfish, Destruction Babies) knows. If he wants to become Prime Minister of his own country one day, he needs to conquer Kaitei High’s Student Council first.

Teiichi prepares to do whatever it takes, casting his pride—and inhibitions—away, to become the next SC President’s right-hand man. However, his obsessive pursuit of power alienates Mimiko, his long-suffering girlfriend, and Dan, his new friend in school.

Quirky absurdist humour permeates Akira Nagai’s film as it satirises not just the dark and dastardly world of school council but politics in general. This live-action adaptation’s stylised shot composition and cinematography owes plenty to its manga roots, originally serialized in Jump Square (2010-2016).

Fans of satire, dark comedy, and, of course, the many beautiful young men on-screen will enjoy this one.
