San-in region in Japan is home to a remarkable group of traditional and modern craftspeople. Sydney, Australia is home to Yu Sasaki chef and business operator. In 2017 Photographer Brett Boardman travelled between workshops in San-in and inner city restaurant ‘Sasaki’ in Sydney, filming Yu as he narrated his desire of bringing the worlds of his birthplace and his new home together through memories of traditional family cooking and a joyful collection of Japanese makers and their creations.
