A yakuza black comedy about the worst cops in Japanese history.

Moroboshi is a young Judo champion recruited into the Hokkaido police force for the sole purpose of winning the inter-bureau athletic competition. Despite his physical strength, he lacks the assertiveness needed to survive in the competitive environment. A senior detective takes Moroboshi under his wing and prompts Moroboshi’s transformation into a desperado police officer with a yakuza swagger.

Lines between police and criminals blur as Moroboshi’s values are overtaken by his yearning for appraisal and prestige. The honest rookie transforms into a hotshot cop with an impressive arrest record, thanks to his informants in the criminal underworld. But everything in life eventually comes full circle…

Twisted Justice is a gangster black comedy based on a real police scandal known as The Inaba Case. Directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (The Devil’s Path), it stars the versatile Go Ayano (The Light Shines Only There; Piece of Cake) as Yoichi Moroboshi.
