Youth only comes around once
Rainbow Days follows the lives of four high school friends—Natchan (Reo Sano), the hopeless romantic; Mattsun (Taishi Nakagawa), the narcissistic playboy; Tsuyopon (Mahiro Takasugi), the studious otaku; and Kei-chan (Ryusei Yokohama), the cheerful one with questionable hobbies. Homework and exams aside, they’re determined to live the best years of their lives.
When the boys find out that Natchan, the group’s awkward turtle, is in love with Anna, their schoolmate, they attempt to play the role of wingmen. Needless to say, they only make things more difficult for Natchan. But their group unexpectedly grows and with new friends come sunnier days ahead.
Director Ken Iizuka (GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka, The Blue Hearts) directs a charismatic cast led by talented emerging actors Mahiro Takasugi (Before We Vanish) and Taishi Nakagawa (ReLIFE).
