Has-been heartthrobs and rookie girl rockers

On the cusp of fame, rock band the JoKers mysteriously splits up. One year later, vocalist Jyo Kodukai has debuted in the U.S. while guitarist Jyo Kaieda is a miserable, entitled, handsome university student with only a purple sports car to show for his former glory days.

To reignite Jyo Kaieda’s musical passion, former JoKers members and their eccentric café owner friend hatch a plan—get Jyo Kaieda to mentor the new, all-girl high-schooler rock band, Drop Doll!

Despite his strict standards, the out-of-synch rookies easily find the passion for rock that Jyo Kaieda has lost. While begrudgingly following his coaching, feisty Drop Doll drummer Sakura isn’t falling for his pretty-boy charm, and grows more and more determined to prove her worth as a musician. As they master their sound, bandmates Sakura, Mao and Rina start to love playing together—and their passion for rock is simply infectious!

* “JK” in the title refers to joshi kōsei meaning high school girls
