There are no losers in the game of life

Screened as part of the JFF 2018.

Tamako has spent her life trying to flee from the pressures of becoming a professional table tennis athlete. Dubbed as a prodigy the day she was born, her relentless, idealistic mother never allowed her to skip a single day of training. After her mother passes away, Tamako gleefully lives a normal life – she picks up new hobbies, finishes school, and joins the workforce. Now all she needs to do is find a husband!

Tamako’s path to a pleasant, mundane life seems to be on track. She’s 28 and her boyfriend, Ejima, is the hottest athlete in the table tennis world. Playing dumb and hiding her past from Ejima, she embraces the role of a supportive trophy girlfriend.

However, romance is a game that Tamako hasn’t mastered yet. Instead of celebrating their wedding engagement, Ejima cheats on her with another athlete. What’s an ex-table tennis prodigy to do? Easy! Assemble her own team of ace players and destroy Ejima’s team at the National Table Tennis Championships.
